Over the past four months Soojin Kang has been making sculptures in the wild, relocating her studio to the forest which surrounds her home in rural Germany. In this new body of work, made in direct response to her surroundings, Kang uses wild silk to embelish an organic visual idiolect all her own.
Soojin Kang (born 1978, Seoul, Korea) lives and works in Germany. She graduated from Central St. Martins in 2009 and has exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Texture Museum in Kortrijk and Movement Lab, Busan. Her work is in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
